Torreoncito's Abner Dohrmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Brânzaș in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Brânzaș in the 14th minute of play forced Torreoncito's goalkeeper Abner Dohrmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th match minute, Phoenix Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Ceaușu to maneuver through the defense. Phoenix Strikers's Horaţiu Dinulescu suffered a sore thigh after 21 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 22 played minutes Torreoncito got a freekick which was hit by Bonifacio Montenegro. Ioan Cozma blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abner Dohrmann having to make a save. After 26 minutes, Erik Vera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Torreoncito and the Phoenix Strikers players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Torreoncito:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Phoenix Strikers:s goal. Denis Brânzaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Abner Dohrmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Torreoncito got a freekick which was hit by Gerard Norambuena. Erik Vera hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Denis Brânzaș left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phoenix Strikers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Juan Antonio Vives sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Isac Spirea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Antonio Vives, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cazimir Ceaușu kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenix Strikers's zone, Marín Mason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Spirea came out of the goal and Marín Mason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A throw-in in the 64th minute of the game was made by Ernesto Guerola with Erik Vera as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Antonio Vives in the 70th minute of play forced Phoenix Strikers's goalkeeper Isac Spirea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, David Mocanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Mocanu hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 75 minutes, Gheorghe Dorineanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenix Strikers and the Torreoncito players grew even worse after the yellow card. 75 minutes into the game, one of Phoenix Strikers:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Torreoncito a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Erik Vera, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea. 2-3. Marín Mason struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Isac Spirea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torreoncito. Marín Mason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isac Spirea having to interfere. When the final whistle went the supporters of Phoenix Strikers were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Torreoncito side.
