Pacho Mondejars short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Isac Spirea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Salud y República's Pacho Mondejar got a free kick in the 8th minute. Juan Carlos Suciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horaţiu Dinulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Adulfo Teresa came free, but Isac Spirea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Salud y República were awarded a corner. Cai Ocaña went to the cornerflag to take it. 18 minutes into the game, Salud y República's Pacho Mondejar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isac Spirea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Nisio Riba charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nisio Riba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Salud y República getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nisio Riba hit a great ball. In the 25th minute of the match David Mocanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan Carlos Suciu skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Salud y República's Nisio Riba got a free kick in the 30th minute. Pacho Mondejar had several of the Phoenix Strikers's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Isac Spirea as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 35th match minute, Phoenix Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nistor Curcă to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Abdika Philip took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Isac Spirea to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Păun in the 46th minute of play forced Salud y República's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Suciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdika Philip to make the kick off. Juan Carlos Suciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Dinulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After 52 minutes, Pacho Mondejar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salud y República and the Phoenix Strikers players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenix Strikers's zone, Abdika Philip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Spirea came out of the goal and Abdika Philip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Phoenix Strikers defense, Pacho Mondejar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isac Spirea. The Phoenix Strikers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isac Spirea should have stopped the shot. After 60 minutes, Pacho Mondejar made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Abdika Philip managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salud y República's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdika Philip was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isac Spirea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 68 minutes into the game, Nistor Curcă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Phoenix Strikers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salud y República the free kick. If Pacho Mondejar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pacho Mondejar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isac Spirea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. When Salud y República's Pacho Mondejar in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Abdika Philip took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isac Spirea. Isac Spirea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. The supporters of Salud y República booed when Phoenix Strikers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cazimir Ceaușu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isac Spirea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdika Philip in the 85th minute of the match. Pacho Mondejar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 93 minutes of play, Salud y República's Abdika Philip made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isac Spirea was left in no man's land by his defense there!
