Cezary Karpinski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lauro Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Favoretto might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexandre Garcia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tony Favoretto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute, Jacinto Fantini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Classe A Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-9 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Favoretto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
