The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Narcis Agachi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lost Boys Sports Academy's Sten Sture was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 6th minute Nils-Åke Sjö shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Lobonț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 7 minutes on the clock, Marcu Jușcă commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for F.C CLUJ MEDICINA! 9 minutes into the match, Karl Engström notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Bogdan Lobonț. Lost Boys Sports Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C CLUJ MEDICINA the free kick. Octav Baldovin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute Ovidiu Voicescu suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matt Hughes during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Mihail Onaca was substituted for Ovidiu Voicescu. Bogdan Lobonț made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Nils-Åke Sjö sent off a good shot on target. Bogdan Lobonț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils-Åke Sjö, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave Matt Hughes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bogdan Lobonț made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Nils-Åke Sjö sent off a good shot on target. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Bogdan Lobonț proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save F.C CLUJ MEDICINA from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Lost Boys Sports Academy's zone, Mihail Onaca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sten Sture came out of the goal and Mihail Onaca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute Octav Baldovin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Sture saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valeriu Bucurescu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sten Sture firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sten Sture showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octav Baldovin, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Sten Sture showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octav Baldovin in the 69th minute of the match. After 79 played minutes F.C CLUJ MEDICINA got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Rusu. Thomas Stigsson's late challenge caught a F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octav Baldovin in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sten Sture prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
