Fc Benefica's Edgard Rijaard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Almeida in the 3rd minute of play. The Fc Benefica fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Fc Benefica's Yuri Paauwe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Edgard Rijaard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yuri Paauwe in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wágner Seco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgard Rijaard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio Santos in the 26th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Agostinho Almeida took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Edgard Rijaard to make any attempt to save it. Edgard Rijaard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ritvaldis Rau went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute, Gilson Meirelles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Juventudes Libertárias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Juventudes Libertárias's attentive Leonel Faria managed to snatch the ball when Kenneth Roewen made a throw-in in the 46th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A sloppy throw-in by Márcio Santos in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Fc Benefica's Denny van den Berg. Edgard Rijaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ritvaldis Rau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yuri Paauwe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ritvaldis Rau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Rijaard having to interfere. In the 76th minute Agostinho Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Rijaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fc Benefica's 宋宇博 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonel Faria, made in the 78th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the match, Juventudes Libertárias's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Lammens came free, but Wágner Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
