Paavo Salmela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Edgard Rijaard made a huge save. Edgard Rijaard was a little too slow when Paavo Salmela got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. 12 minutes into the game, Herbert Teesing was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc Benefica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United FC the free kick. A collision led to Fc Benefica getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Herbert Teesing hit a great ball. Veli Siivonen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgard Rijaard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's goalkeeper Edgard Rijaard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Veli Siivonen. 宋宇博 hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Pirkka Rautee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erik Cantona charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Cantona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manchester United FC's Tero Haakana was substituted for Erik Cantona. In the 30th match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Cantona to maneuver through the defense. Juha Jokiranta came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Fc Benefica's Ronald Lammens. But to his dismay, Ronald Lammens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Veli Siivonen could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Edgard Rijaard however easily saved by the left post. With his leg Edgard Rijaard managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Manchester United FC's Paavo Salmela fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Yuri Paauwe came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Fc Benefica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri Paauwe couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Fc Benefica booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paavo Salmela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manchester United FC's Juha Jokiranta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Lammens in the 48th minute of play.

宋宇博 hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's goal looked a bit too open when Tero Haakana came free, but Edgard Rijaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Rijaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paavo Salmela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denny van den Berg kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Paavo Salmela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Edgard Rijaard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's goal looked a bit too open when Tero Haakana came free, but Edgard Rijaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game was made by Kustaa Virtanen with Tero Haakana as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Edgard Rijaard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paavo Salmela, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Yuri Paauwe struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Juha Jokiranta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Benefica. In the 88th match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Keane to maneuver through the defense. Manchester United FC's Mika Mikkola was substituted for Roy Keane. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Mika Mikkola got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Manchester United FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Fc Benefica to leave the ground with a draw.
