Henrique Lampez hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Karl-Åke Sandell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Bermudo Mestre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 14 played minutes Garphyttan got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Nordmark. The supporters of Garphyttan booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rami Tolentin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Garphyttan's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandez Quintairos came free, but Jörgen Gummeson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Jens-Ola Nordin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garphyttan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Isadoro Archibeque got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernt Nordmark got free with Bermudo Mestre in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Fernandez Quintairos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borussia Dortmund fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 35th match minute, Garphyttan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Arce to maneuver through the defense. When Henrique Lampez came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Borussia Dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henrique Lampez couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jesus Arce was the one to do the kick off. Bermudo Mestre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Åke Sandell in the 53rd minute of play. Borussia Dortmund's Bermudo Mestre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Nordmark in the 59th minute of play. Jörgen Gummeson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandez Quintairos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Garphyttan's Jörgen Gummeson got control of the ball when Henrique Lampez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernandez Quintairos took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jörgen Gummeson. Jörgen Gummeson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yngve Lindberg in the 78th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Bermudo Mestre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Bernt Nordmark cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Bermudo Mestre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Garphyttan fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Garphyttan's Bernt Nordmark looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Borussia Dortmund's Bermudo Mestre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yngve Lindberg in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Bernt Nordmark notched a goal, 5-3, to the right of Borussia Dortmund's Bermudo Mestre. Bermudo Mestre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Garphyttan walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
