Costel Neagoe was slow to take the kick. During this time Paralia Athens's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Costel Neagoe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ubaldo Lluterio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Paralia Athens's Virgil Olariu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xilo Cortada in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Purple Shadows booed when Paralia Athens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Văidianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Paralia Athens's Mike Cai nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ubaldo Lluterio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Paralia Athens's Vasile Enciulescu got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After some careless play in the Paralia Athens defense, Enerik Hyka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Virgil Olariu. The Paralia Athens fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgil Olariu should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

Ubaldo Lluterio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mike Cai's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Gonzalo Taibo charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gonzalo Taibo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 92 played minutes Paralia Athens got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Taibo. Gorom Kanø took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Virgil Olariu. Paralia Athens's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Purple Shadows were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
