The supporters of Magallanes booed when Australian Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Millard didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipolito Fritz in the 9th minute of play forced Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Humberto Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Baba in the 19th minute of play forced Magallanes's goalkeeper Tomás Las Casas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Aravena in the 20th minute of play forced Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Humberto Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magallanes's Tomás Las Casas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. Shaun Haley hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Magallanes's Filipo Paut tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 26 minutes of play, Magallanes's Luis Aravena made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Humberto Velasco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fletcher Baba hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Magallanes's Hipolito Fritz fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Tomás Las Casas was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Fletcher Baba capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fletcher Baba really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Humberto Velasco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Aravena went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 46th match minute, Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Fernando Pirola to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Australian Youth Academy defense, Emilio Formoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Humberto Velasco. The Australian Youth Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Humberto Velasco should have stopped the shot. Hipolito Fritzs short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Humberto Velasco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Humberto Velasco was a little too slow when Luis Aravena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 2-5. In the 60th minute Dante Baba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Las Casas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Rose Encina reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Humberto Velasco. The goal made the score 2-6. Tomás Las Casas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dante Baba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilio Formoso in the 66th minute. Humberto Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Formoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Magallanes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carmichael Tinsley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-6. Tomás Las Casas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmichael Tinsley in the 97th minute of the match. Magallanes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
