After a defensive mix-up in F.C.BARLAD's zone, Songurbey Şahsuvar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wojtek Szczęsny came out of the goal and Songurbey Şahsuvar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nichifor Codruț might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeo Rufo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nichifor Codruț ran back to his position shaking his head. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Amadeo Rufo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 14th minute of play. In the 15thth minute of the game Braulio Castel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Amadeo Rufo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th minute Songurbey Şahsuvar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wojtek Szczęsny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guilherme Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wojtek Szczęsny having to interfere. Wojtek Szczęsny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edin Džeko in the 42nd minute of the match. Amadeo Rufo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichifor Codruț, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. A collision led to F.C.BARLAD getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Braulio Castel hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nichifor Codruț was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Adam Gheorghiță mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C.BARLAD and the Nova Erechim - FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florin Aalexoaiei got free with Amadeo Rufo in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Peres in the 84th minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Wojtek Szczęsny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Guilherme Peres almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F.C.BARLAD's Wojtek Szczęsny did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Songurbey Şahsuvar in the 88th minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Wojtek Szczęsny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Edin Džeko in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
