Graeme McLise made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerónimo Sabrosa in the 8th minute of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Jerónimo Sabrosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leicester Foxes Academy's Graeme McLise was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Minho FC's Marco Varela in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leicester Foxes Academy's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Leicester Foxes Academy's zone, Jerónimo Sabrosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Graeme McLise came out of the goal and Jerónimo Sabrosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jairo Calçada made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Peter Pennant sent off a good shot on target. Elpidio Hever charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elpidio Hever the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Leicester Foxes Academy getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Elpidio Hever hit a great ball. Emanuel Barata's late challenge caught a Leicester Foxes Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Barata helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Leicester Foxes Academy booed when Minho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Barata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Minho FC's Jerónimo Sabrosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Graeme McLise narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, Stuart Greenfield cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jairo Calçada was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stuart Greenfield was the one to do the kick off. Marco Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Graeme McLise made a huge save. 54 minutes into the match, Leicester Foxes Academy's goalkeeper Graeme McLise had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Varela. In the 57thth minute of the game Jerónimo Sabrosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leicester Foxes Academy's Graeme McLise was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Minho FC were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Leicester Foxes Academy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jordão Figueiredo took the corner. The corner led Minho FC's Jordão Figueiredo to fire away a dangerous shot which Graeme McLise despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Graeme McLise showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerónimo Sabrosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Graeme McLise made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Varela in the 63rd minute. Minho FC's Jairo Calçada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Niven in the 67th minute of play. Leicester Foxes Academy's Julian Joachim was substituted for Jez Alcock. The corner led Leicester Foxes Academy's Peter Pennant to fire away a dangerous shot which Jairo Calçada despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jordão Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Graeme McLise tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jordão Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Leicester Foxes Academy booed when Minho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Barata didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Varela in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Graeme McLise saved Leicester Foxes Academy from getting behind. Caio Ponte hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Peter Pennant hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Stuart Greenfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Reinaldo Moutinho hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Peter Pennant took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jairo Calçada. Minho FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Minho FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Leicester Foxes Academy.
