The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nilmar Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Mané Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Orange, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 6th minute Luiz Fabiano Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 7 minutes Goiás Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfredinho de Senna who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Alfredinho de Senna got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mané Quirino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 10 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fabiano Orange came free, but Mané Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Chiquinho Guerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Sandrinho Vides got a free kick in the 13th minute. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano Orange in the 18th minute of the match. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Orange in the 20th minute of play. Mané Quirino came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Luiz Fabiano Orange. But to his dismay, Luiz Fabiano Orange quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafa Pinho during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 30 minutes into the game, one of Goiás Esporte Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alfredinho de Senna, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino. 0-2. Chiquinho Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute Luiz Fabiano Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Quirino came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Luiz Fabiano Orange. But to his dismay, Luiz Fabiano Orange quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Prado in the 44th minute of play. Amadeu Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

Mané Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amadeu Prado in the 53rd minute. After 59 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Secco. Amadeu Prado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Mané Quirino made a huge save. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Goiás Esporte Clube! Goiás Esporte Clube:s Mané Quirino showed great skill when he stopped Alfredinho de Senna:s penalty. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ defense, Edgard Cabral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chiquinho Guerra. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chiquinho Guerra should have stopped the shot. Laércio de Souza made in the 78th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Benigno Ixona. In the 86th minute, Edgard Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino got control of the ball when Amadeu Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, Luiz Fabiano Orange had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mané Quirino. Goiás Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fabiano Orange was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5.
