Spectators: 7693 (Terracing: 5771, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 153) Newcastle United's Bernard Seliga started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Mikolaj Winszman got a free kick in the 3rd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Lech Wierzbicki in the 6th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Luck's Gheorghe Comăneci. 7 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goalkeeper Kryspin Wyrostek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by George Huștiu. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Kryspin Wyrostek successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. George Huștiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kryspin Wyrostek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Kryspin Wyrostek was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eduard Mutu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goalkeeper Kryspin Wyrostek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narcis Ţipirig. In the 20th minute, Narcis Ţipirig reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kryspin Wyrostek. The goal made the score 2-0. FC Luck's Gheorghe Comăneci quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lech Wierzbicki, made in the 27th minute of the game. After having played for 34 minutes, Narcis Ţipirig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Luck's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narcis Ţipirig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Narcis Ţipirig's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Kryspin Wyrostek skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, FC Luck's Iacob Panțâru got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute, Narcis Ţipirig reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kryspin Wyrostek. The goal made the score 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Eduard Mutu made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Newcastle United! FC Luck's Gheorghe Comăneci quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lucjan Turak, made in the 57th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduard Mutu in the 67th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Kryspin Wyrostek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kryspin Wyrostek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Mutu in the 75th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Newcastle United defense, Eduard Mutu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kryspin Wyrostek. The Newcastle United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kryspin Wyrostek should have stopped the shot. George Huștiu took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kryspin Wyrostek. Kryspin Wyrostek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Newcastle United's Kryspin Wyrostek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Mutu in the 87th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Eduard Mutu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Luck's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduard Mutu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kryspin Wyrostek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 93 minutes Newcastle United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Silviu Bădila who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to FC Luck's Gavril Neicu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When George Huștiu came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the FC Luck fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Huștiu couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Luck had won after a very even match.
