Zlatan BK's Billy Pihl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Zlatan BK from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United's zone, Aaron Fors stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kryspin Wyrostek came out of the goal and Aaron Fors tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Borys Szarmach came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Newcastle United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Borys Szarmach couldn't finish the play. Antoni Cupial fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy Pihl having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Newcastle United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zlatan BK:s goal. The Zlatan BK fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Zlatan BK's Kjell Grönberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United's zone, Aaron Fors stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience thought a goal was coming when Borys Szarmach got free with Billy Pihl in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Antoni Cupial had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Borys Szarmach scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Billy Pihl, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Börge Botvidsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 60 minutes into the game, one of Zlatan BK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Zlatan BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Åke Nordstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 68 played minutes, Newcastle United's Arkadiusz Rojewski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Billy Pihl came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newcastle United reached it. In the 76th minute, Lucjan Turak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Borys Szarmach in the 82nd minute of play forced Zlatan BK's goalkeeper Billy Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 played minutes Zlatan BK got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Grönberg. Billy Pihl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoni Cupial in the 87th minute of the match.
