The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Celestino Toro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celestino Toro in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carman Jobson saved ORION F.C. from getting behind. 9 minutes into the match, Mikail Savgat dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anier Oidor, 1-0. In the 20th minute, Enrique De Diego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute Delmiro Tabor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carman Jobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Gómez in the 29th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Anier Oidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carman Jobson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Cordareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, ORION F.C.'s Alejandro Cedeño got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Carman Jobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmiro Tabor, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute Celedonio Cordareo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carman Jobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carman Jobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Cordareo in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Franklin Agurto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the game, Celestino Toro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Carman Jobson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celestino Toro was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, ORION F.C.'s Antonio Corelli got a free kick in the 54th minute. A hard shot by Celestino Toro from long distance, 55 minutes into the match, got Carman Jobson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Fernando Gomez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Mikail Savgat's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anier Oidor was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
