Freddy Izel charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddy Izel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute, one of San Lorenzo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for San Lorenzo. In the 12th minute, Benito Naldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severiano Rafe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delmiro Tabor in the 15th minute. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Diego Balendin hit a great ball. Domingo Vedillo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Celestino Toro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Rafe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Madison's Severiano Rafe got control of the ball when Delmiro Tabor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Madison's Severiano Rafe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Madison from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Benito Naldo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Anier Oidor. Madison's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Faustino Avellaneda in the 38th minute. After taking down the ball on Madison's corner Faustino Avellaneda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Anier Oidor quite easily take care of the ball. Severiano Rafe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benito Naldo to strike the kick off in the second half. Celestino Toro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Severiano Rafe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benito Naldo during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Madison's Benito Naldo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 57 minutes into the match, Celestino Toro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severiano Rafe. Madison's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celestino Toro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Delmiro Tabor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Rafe having to interfere. Benito Naldo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Anier Oidor when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Madison getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Nunez Guillelmus hit a great ball. Severiano Rafe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Tabor in the 67th minute of play. After 68 minutes Madison's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Celestino Toro who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Celestino Toro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Madison's Severiano Rafe did a great save. The supporters of Madison booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celestino Toro didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 74 in the game by Benito Naldo from a close distance when the talented Anier Oidor managed to make a qualified save. San Lorenzo's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo's zone, Humberto Eliu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anier Oidor came out of the goal and Humberto Eliu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Madison's Benito Naldo in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Lorenzo's goalie prevented a goal. Severiano Rafe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Balendin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 91 minutes, Celestino Toro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celestino Toro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Madison booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Balendin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnaldo Bide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
