The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Arthur Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AD Pontassolense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Breguete FC the free kick. A collision led to AD Pontassolense getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Arthur Branco hit a great ball. In the 6th match minute, AD Pontassolense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Portela to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Domingues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jesualdo Maltez was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Herberto Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jefferson Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Valério in the 31st minute of the match. Jefferson Souza came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by AD Pontassolense's Arthur Branco. But to his dismay, Arthur Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Domingues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jesualdo Maltez was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 39th minute Benjamim Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesualdo Maltez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes of play, AD Pontassolense's Arthur Branco made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jefferson Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jefferson Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Domingues was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of AD Pontassolense booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Portela in the 54th minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jefferson Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guilherme Valério could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Jefferson Souza made a huge save. Jesualdo Maltez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nélson Bezerra made a great header on AD Pontassolense's corner, it was just that Breguete FC's Jefferson Souza managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience was convinced that Arthur Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jefferson Souza was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. In the 79th minute AD Pontassolense were awarded a corner. Nélson Bezerra went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on AD Pontassolense's corner Nélson Bezerra fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jefferson Souza quite easily take care of the ball. Benjamim Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jefferson Souza made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Álvaro Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Roberto Toledo got a free kick in the 87th minute. After a rather tough play, AD Pontassolense's Gabriel Andrade got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Jefferson Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arthur Branco in the 96th minute. AD Pontassolense played a much better game than Breguete FC and deserved their victory. The Breguete FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
