The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Forever Tango booed when Mestre GG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th match minute, Mestre GG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilson Donato to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th match minute, Forever Tango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godofredo Harri to maneuver through the defense. Horácio Netto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 81st minute, Hernani Lira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Hernani Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st minute, Gustavo Peli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Chiquinho Sergipano came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Mestre GG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chiquinho Sergipano couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mestre GG fans cheered their team off the field, for while Forever Tango had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
