Frank Nelli hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Miro Klose came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FC Aquile Azzurre fans jumped to their feet. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chu Liang Ping got free with Angelo Peruzzi in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Amadeu Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Chu Liang Ping ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Angelo Peruzzi. Barcellos Mineiro FC were furious when Sandy Fumarola was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 88th minute, one of Barcellos Mineiro FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barcellos Mineiro FC. Barcellos Mineiro FC:s Waldir Peres showed great skill when he stopped Frank Nelli:s penalty. Waldir Peres came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Aquile Azzurre's Frank Nelli. But to his dismay, Frank Nelli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Aquile Azzurre had won after a very even match.
