The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Hyde hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After having played for 5 minutes, J.P. Delarosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but J.P. Delarosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Santos FC booed when StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Nuno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvestre Gimenez scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Mitchell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Pacho came free, but Jim Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18thth minute of the game Silvestre Gimenez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santos FC's Jim Mitchell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cleto Papo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Heath in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Peio in the 23rd minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Jim Mitchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 minutes Santos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lucio Peio who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 26 minutes, Lucio Peio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucio Peio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's Lucio Peio got a free kick in the 28th minute. Jim Mitchell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvestre Gimenez's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Silvestre Gimenez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jim Mitchell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute Eliseo Pacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Mitchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Eliseo Pacho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jim Mitchell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Milton Heath made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Silvestre Gimenez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvestre Gimenez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's Lucio Peio got a free kick in the 55th minute. Cleto Papo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamar Burton, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Santos FC's Jim Mitchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Gimenez in the 61st minute of play. In the 61st minute, Silvestre Gimenez made a precise shot to the right of Jim Mitchell. Santos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. A hard shot 65 in the game by Eliseo Pacho from a close distance when the talented Jim Mitchell managed to make a qualified save. Santos FC's players were relieved. 66 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Gimenez came free, but Jim Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot by Lucio Peio from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Jim Mitchell's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The nice shot from Eliseo Pacho in the 74thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jim Mitchell had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. With a little luck, Santos FC's Jim Mitchell got control of the ball when Lucio Peio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Silvestre Gimenez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Mitchell. Santos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvestre Gimenez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. If Silvestre Gimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Pacho hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Pedro Finn hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Jim Mitchell made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Eliseo Pacho sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Silvestre Gimenez managed to get in a good position for a shot. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvestre Gimenez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Mitchell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
