The referee showed Jiang Kang Nan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to The Dalwhinnie Boys getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jiang Kang Nan hit a great ball. In the 46th minute Pedro Finn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjorn Panter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 54th minute of the match, Klaus Bas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jim Mitchell saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Stijn Klompe took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jim Mitchell. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ralph Wilmink got free with Jim Mitchell in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, Robert Gierman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jim Mitchell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Kristoffers's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. In the 79th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamar Burton to maneuver through the defense. Klaus Bas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Jim Mitchell made a huge save. Milton Heath's late challenge caught a The Dalwhinnie Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Milton Heath helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Milton Heath.
