Hønning's Folmar Dandanell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Hønning from getting a goal against them. Per Nørbjerg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Rapinett having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neil Axisa got free with Folmar Dandanell in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Folmar Dandanell was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lawrence De Marco showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremy Bonello in the 28th minute of play forced Hønning's goalkeeper Folmar Dandanell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 29 minutes on the clock, Torben Steenhede commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hønning fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Folmar Dandanell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neil Axisa in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes Attard Gunners got a freekick which was hit by William De Lucca. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Zrinzo got free with Folmar Dandanell in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferdinand Romholt to strike the kick off in the second half. If Fabio Vassallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute, Lawrence De Marco made a precise shot to the right of Folmar Dandanell. Hønning's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence De Marco in the 56th minute of play forced Hønning's goalkeeper Folmar Dandanell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Attard Gunners's William De Lucca got his second yellow card of the match in the 57th minute. The referee ordered William De Lucca off the ground. After 70 played minutes, Attard Gunners's Jake Debono shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Folmar Dandanell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Attard Gunners reached it. 71 minutes into the game, Lawrence De Marco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Folmar Dandanell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 77 played minutes Hønning got a freekick which was hit by Therkil Varsing. After 82 minutes of play, Attard Gunners's Neil Axisa made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Folmar Dandanell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Samson Erreboe hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Jake Debono took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Folmar Dandanell. Hønning's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fabio Vassallo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute of the match Per Nørbjerg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amadeo Rapinett showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Attard Gunners were the better team. Attard Gunners's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
