The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Thomas Zrinzo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Attard Gunners's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Zrinzo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atilano Normando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benjamin Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Atilano Normando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrea Xuereb in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Aguilera came free, but Amadeo Rapinett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Omero Simpson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Rapinett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atilano Normando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrea Xuereb in the 39th minute of play. Teodoro Santos hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Arsenio Aguilera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Attard Gunners eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
