The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Raul Santxol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Tande in the 2nd minute of play. In the 9th minute Nilson Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Santxol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hudson Toscano in the 13th minute of play forced AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Raul Santxol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Santxol didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nilson Duarte went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Gombal came free, but Nando Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Independente FC's Nando Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Independente FC from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adriano Tande made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Tande in the 52nd minute of play forced AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Raul Santxol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th match minute, Independente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Mattos to maneuver through the defense. 62 minutes into the game, Independente FC's Raí Prestes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raul Santxol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Cahyo Rantung got a free kick in the 68th minute. Raul Santxol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Tande in the 73rd minute of the match. Raul Santxol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Prestes in the 78th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adriano Tande in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raul Santxol saved AZURDUY F.C. from getting behind. After 81 minutes AZURDUY F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nilson Duarte who took care of the corner kick. Nilson Duarte made a great header on Independente FC's corner, it was just that AZURDUY F.C.'s Raul Santxol managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 92nd minute, Hudson Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
