Angelo Quico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Tande in the 18th minute of the match. Angelo Quico came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Independente FC's Luiz Marquez. But to his dismay, Luiz Marquez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Marquez in the 24th minute of play forced Celtic FC's goalkeeper Angelo Quico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severo Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Nando Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Quico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Prestes in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Independente FC's Raí Prestes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Quico made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The supporters of Independente FC booed when Celtic FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Jon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
