After a rather tough play, Pesqueira City's Durvalino Diniz got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Pesqueira City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Godofredo Rik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The Pesqueira City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo de Moraes should have stopped the shot. After the first half Santa Fe were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toro Murillo to make the kick off. Kléber Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 51st minute, Toro Murillo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ivo de Moraes. The goal made the score 0-5. With a little luck, Pesqueira City's Ivo de Moraes got control of the ball when Toro Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivo de Moraes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 80th minute, Santa Fe's Godofredo Rik ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivo de Moraes.
