In the 16th match minute, Boğazova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustafa Kemal Oykan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devran Karadağ in the 20th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Demirhan İdris kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Nick Daniels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erenay Yaltırak having to interfere. Cornel Ulici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Mustafa Kemal Oykan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Pihl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Pihl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mustafa Kemal Oykan in the 36th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Kemal Oykan came free, but Alex Pihl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Macit Ünsevin in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alex Pihl saved SK Mons from getting behind. The supporters of SK Mons booed when Boğazova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demirhan İdris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erenay Yaltırak was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Peng Xu. After 43 minutes, Leif Olofsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Mons and the Boğazova players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Leif Olofsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Pihl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Kemal Oykan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the referee blew the final whistle, SK Mons could leave the field as winners, despite Boğazova having more of the ball for most of the match.
