After a rather tough play, SK Mons's Nick Daniels got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Karl-Michael Hjeltman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Daniels in the 12th minute of the match. Iskren Nikolchov's late challenge caught a SK Mons's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iskren Nikolchov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Iskren Nikolchov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Cornel Ulici's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Michael Hjeltman was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tzanko Papukchiev to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Cup2 booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulisses Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rdth minute of the game Cornel Ulici who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cup2's Karl-Michael Hjeltman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Trayan Kavalov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alex Pihl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SK Mons made a substitution. Sergio Deman replaced Ruben Smidts. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cornel Ulici during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Ulici to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cornel Ulici got free with Karl-Michael Hjeltman in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute, Trayan Kavalov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Pihl was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After a rather tough play, Cup2's Argir Tishinov got a free kick in the 81st minute. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Karl-Michael Hjeltman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in SK Mons's zone, Martin Ødegaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Pihl came out of the goal and Martin Ødegaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Pihl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Ødegaard in the 86th minute of the match. If Cornel Ulici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Pihl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tzanko Papukchiev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 played minutes Cup2 got a freekick which was hit by Aleko Merdzhanov. Martin Ødegaard hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Şeref Erez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Karl-Michael Hjeltman. Cup2's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cup2 lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
