Urbano Curcio scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrinho Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jarbas Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. 46 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Urbano Curcio came free, but Pedrinho Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Pegaso were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Despite this Pastor Mino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jarbas Dantas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrinho Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Jaime Nevada took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrinho Guimarães. Pedrinho Guimarães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Pastor Mino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Trancoso in the 67th minute of the match. Pedrinho Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Kauan Rezende fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
