The supporters of Khachatryan booed when Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Lousada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tigran Balayan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Morais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 played minutes, Khachatryan's Abel Avetisyan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hamilton Poças came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Khachatryan reached it. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Hamilton Poças played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigor Grigoryan in the 11th minute of play. Khachatryan's Grigor Grigoryan got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. defense, Grigor Grigoryan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hamilton Poças. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hamilton Poças should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Hamilton Poças, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Grigor Grigoryan hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Hamilton Poças made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grigor Grigoryan in the 22nd minute of play. Hamilton Poças showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurtis Wooten in the 23rd minute of the match. Hamilton Poças came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Khachatryan's Grigor Grigoryan. But to his dismay, Grigor Grigoryan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arno Martirosyan in the 31st minute of play forced Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Hamilton Poças to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Khachatryan were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Abel Avetisyan took the corner. Khachatryan's Abel Avetisyan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hamilton Poças in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Hamilton Poças, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Grigor Grigoryan came free, but Hamilton Poças reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Silvano Morais got a free kick in the 45th minute.
Jairo Anjos charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Anjos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 55th minute of the match Abel Avetisyan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hamilton Poças skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Grigor Grigoryan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Khachatryan's supporters rose to their feet, but Grigor Grigoryan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hamilton Poças breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grigor Grigoryan in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamilton Poças prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s zone, Grigor Grigoryan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamilton Poças came out of the goal and Grigor Grigoryan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Khachatryan's Tommy Landis was substituted for Remigiusz Adamus. Grigor Grigoryan had several of the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 66 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Hamilton Poças as he didn't even see the shot coming. Tommy Landis kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Hamilton Poças stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Grigor Grigoryan's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Khachatryan's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
