When Zé Pedro Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flying Dutch's protests and gave Zé Pedro Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Zé Pedro Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamilton Poças showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Gastão Cesário notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero. Luís Paulo Romero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zé Pedro Montenegro hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gastão Cesário got free with Luís Paulo Romero in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Flying Dutch's Rodolfo Santos got a free kick in the 27th minute. When Flying Dutch's Niceto Xacintu in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 54th minute, Gastão Cesário got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hamilton Poças was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Victor de Salles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 62 minute of play. Luís Paulo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gastão Cesário in the 65th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Manuel Valadão notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero. When Osmar Mattos fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flying Dutch's protests and gave Osmar Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. defense, Niceto Xacintu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hamilton Poças. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hamilton Poças should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Flying Dutch getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Marcel Camargo hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Gastão Cesário got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
