Kléber Alagoano hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Damaso Nesor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giovanni Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Geleberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Lucas Ipar kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Jorginho Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edson Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blas Hulberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 【E ➣ Gatorei 1976's Blas Hulberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Melo in the 38th minute of play. Waldir Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Damaso Nesor fired a really elegant long shot, but Giovanni Nóbrega threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. During the 41st minute of the match Joga Redondo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joga Redondo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Joga Redondo kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 63rd minute Tostão Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blas Hulberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Melo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Blas Hulberto made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Godoi in the 66th minute of play forced 【E ➣ Gatorei 1976's goalkeeper Blas Hulberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
