The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denis Law made a kick off. When Denis Law came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the AFC United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Law couldn't finish the play. AFC United's Frasco Esquivel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucrețiu Cernea in the 54th minute of play. When Archibaldo Ahumada fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
