Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angel Cristofol in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olle Tunander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olle Tunander didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabio Estavan went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 14 minutes into the match, ACF Fiorentina's goal looked a bit too open when Alfons Delin came free, but Guillermo Padro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabio Estavan in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olle Tunander saved VfL Wolfsburg from getting behind. Guillermo Padro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerry Fristedt in the 32nd minute of play. Ubaldo Orlondon's late challenge caught a VfL Wolfsburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ubaldo Orlondon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd minute, Ubaldo Orlondon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabio Estavan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st match minute, VfL Wolfsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yin Bing Ming to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Angel Cristofol sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and VfL Wolfsburg's Olle Tunander didn't even have to move. 43 minutes into the match, VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Olle Tunander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ambrosio Bernat. Guillermo Padro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marouane Kiefer in the 45th minute of the match. VfL Wolfsburg were furious when Patrick Albom was red carded, 48 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in VfL Wolfsburg fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 48th minute. Penalty! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Olle Tunander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Estavan in the 57th minute of play forced VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Olle Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olle Tunander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Cristofol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Fabio Estavan sped through VfL Wolfsburg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olle Tunander. Ambrosio Bernat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Estavan couldn't finish the play. Felix Marino kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match.
