Diamantino Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Baladi in the 11th minute of play. Fabio Diez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernd Goldsche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Baladi in the 16th minute of play forced Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Diamantino Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Hélder Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Diez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaston Nafarroa took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diamantino Magalhães. Diamantino Magalhães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Academia Militar MZ getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. André Luís Leite hit a great ball. Ubaldo Vedillo scored 0-3 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Magalhães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute Isaias Baladi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hélder Custódio during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 40 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Vedillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diamantino Magalhães. Academia Militar MZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ubaldo Vedillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. 43 minutes into the match, Gilmar Torres notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Fabio Diez. Fabio Diez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 46th minute Isaias Baladi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
52 minutes into the match, Gervasio Xabel notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Academia Militar MZ's Diamantino Magalhães. Diamantino Magalhães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gervasio Xabel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute Gilmar Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Diez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Diamantino Magalhães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ubaldo Vedillo. Diamantino Magalhães came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Gervasio Xabel. But to his dismay, Gervasio Xabel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Diamantino Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaias Baladi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gaston Nafarroa in the 68th minute. The corner led Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Isaias Baladi to fire away a dangerous shot which Diamantino Magalhães despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Academia Militar MZ getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Arí Pitta hit a great ball. Diamantino Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubaldo Vedillo in the 72nd minute. Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Fabio Diez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Torres in the 74th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gilmar Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Diez was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 76th minute, Arí Pitta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Diez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. Ubaldo Vedillo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-7 to the left of a surprised Diamantino Magalhães 79 minutes into the match. Diamantino Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Vedillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 92nd minute of the match Olimpo de Bahia Blanca got a corner. Academia Militar MZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gaston Nafarroa ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Gaston Nafarroa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Diamantino Magalhães quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Olimpo de Bahia Blanca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
