With a little luck, Salmiyah Power's Jussef Ben Mami got control of the ball when Constantino Cordareo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Silverio Bieito came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Salmiyah Power's Cheb El Ouafi. But to his dismay, Cheb El Ouafi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Conrado Mirande hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hermosillo FC's zone, Cheb El Ouafi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silverio Bieito came out of the goal and Cheb El Ouafi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Samuel Laurentzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jussef Ben Mami was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Silverio Bieito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Epifanio Clementi in the 25th minute of play. Silverio Bieito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cheb El Ouafi in the 26th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noureddine Adjani came free, but Silverio Bieito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silverio Bieito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Epifanio Clementi in the 29th minute of the match. Amadeo Primeiro walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Jussef Ben Mami took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Adrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hasan Ali's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silverio Bieito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Munir Abdallah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Antony Carmine fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hermosillo FC's protests and gave Antony Carmine a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Cheb El Ouafi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salmiyah Power's supporters rose to their feet, but Cheb El Ouafi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silverio Bieito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cheb El Ouafi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Samuel Laurentzi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salmiyah Power's Jussef Ben Mami was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Munir Abdallah in the 59th minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Silverio Bieito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ismaïl Hadjadj's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Silverio Bieito skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 92nd minute, Amadeo Primeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silverio Bieito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noureddine Adjani, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
