Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thiago Damião to make the kick off. Thiago Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fathoni Birowo having to interfere. Thiago Damião could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Fathoni Birowo made a huge save. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Fathoni Birowo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 58th minute of the match AF CERRADO got a corner. PHOENIX SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nestor Cordeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on AF CERRADO's corner Thiago Damião fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fathoni Birowo quite easily take care of the ball. Fathoni Birowo made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Tomás Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. 65 minutes into the game, Tomás Schmidt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fathoni Birowo. Tomás Schmidt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. PHOENIX SC's attentive Sophan Cundaya managed to snatch the ball when Nestor Cordeiro made a throw-in in the 70th minute of the game. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Sandrinho Sabóia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Kamarudin Simatupang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomás Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Fathoni Birowo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fathoni Birowo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Goiano in the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Kaká Goiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AF CERRADO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHOENIX SC the free kick. The AF CERRADO supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AF CERRADO would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
