GRÊMIO's Carlos Miguel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamarudin Simatupang in the 7th minute of play. Sidónio Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Lucky Sihite's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Miguel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 19th minute Kamarudin Simatupang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Miguel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fathoni Birowo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Kamarudin Simatupang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Miguel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kamarudin Simatupang in the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Holin Probohudono shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Miguel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GRÊMIO's Carlos Miguel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Holin Probohudono in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute Liu Feng Guang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fathoni Birowo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PHOENIX SC's players were relieved. 39 minutes into the match, GRÊMIO's goal looked a bit too open when Kamarudin Simatupang came free, but Carlos Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anísio Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Holin Probohudono recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 51 minutes, Kamarudin Simatupang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PHOENIX SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kamarudin Simatupang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Holin Probohudono received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Carlos Miguel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Anísio Esteves in the 60th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by PHOENIX SC's Bono Dion. If Holin Probohudono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute Kamarudin Simatupang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Miguel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Holin Probohudono got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fathoni Birowo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liu Feng Guang in the 74th minute of the match. When Ettore Gaeta fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GRÊMIO's protests and gave Ettore Gaeta a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's Ettore Gaeta got a free kick in the 75th minute. Carlos Miguel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Komar Pahlevi in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Komar Pahlevi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. GRÊMIO's Carlos Miguel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Komar Pahlevi in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute of the match PHOENIX SC got a corner. GRÊMIO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lucky Sihite ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Ujo Haryanto Ie almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GRÊMIO's Carlos Miguel did a great save. Komar Pahlevi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Miguel having to interfere. GRÊMIO's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Komar Pahlevi 93 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1.
