When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Bob Dinamite sped through GRÊMIO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Miguel. Liu Feng Guang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wágner Ribeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Zico Matamoros hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Misericordia EC's Wágner Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Misericordia EC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bob Dinamite in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Miguel saved GRÊMIO from getting behind. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Bob Dinamite sped through GRÊMIO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Miguel. Ettore Gaeta hit a great ball. Bob Dinamite blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Miguel having to make a save. GRÊMIO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyson Touro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Bob Dinamite came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Misericordia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Dinamite couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Misericordia EC booed when GRÊMIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidónio Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The GRÊMIO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Misericordia EC were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liu Feng Guang to make the kick off. Wágner Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ettore Gaeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Misericordia EC booed when GRÊMIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's Sidónio Pereira got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Valério Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Miguel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valério Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Carlos Miguel came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Misericordia EC's Valério Peres. But to his dismay, Valério Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Carlos Miguel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bob Dinamite in the 95th minute. The Misericordia EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
