André Monclús did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Felix Cosoreanu 7 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Jobo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tautvydas Mickevičius was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When André Monclús came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Monclús couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Felix Cosoreanu. Felix Cosoreanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. André Monclús blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felix Cosoreanu having to make a save. Felix Cosoreanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Monclús's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Davi Coutinho hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, André Monclús left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 39th minute Hermengildo Jobo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tautvydas Mickevičius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Monclús recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tautvydas Mickevičius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Mendoza in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Monclús was the one to do the kick off. Felix Cosoreanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from André Monclús went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. In the 56th minute, André Monclús ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Cosoreanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. Davi Coutinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Cosoreanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. André Monclús blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felix Cosoreanu having to make a save. 65 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when André Monclús came free, but Felix Cosoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, André Monclús made a precise shot to the right of Felix Cosoreanu. UFC STEAUA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-1. Vicente Txomin kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, André Monclús had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felix Cosoreanu. UFC STEAUA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Monclús was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Monclús in the 74th minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper Felix Cosoreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UFC STEAUA's Felix Cosoreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Monclús in the 75th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Nelson Mendoza took a quick shot and it went in 10-2 without a chance for Tautvydas Mickevičius to make any attempt to save it. Felix Cosoreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Monclús, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Monclús struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Felix Cosoreanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA. André Monclús took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Felix Cosoreanu. Felix Cosoreanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-2. When Iosif Călin fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UFC STEAUA's protests and gave Iosif Călin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Iosif Călin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans cheered their team off the field, for while UFC STEAUA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
