Misericordia EC's Wágner Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Goiano in the 4th minute of play. Wágner Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Damião in the 10th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Thiago Damião's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wágner Ribeiro was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After 13 minutes Misericordia EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nestor Cordeiro who took care of the corner kick. Nestor Cordeiro made a great header on AF CERRADO's corner, it was just that Misericordia EC's Wágner Ribeiro managed to reach the ball for a save. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by AF CERRADO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bob Dinamite was slow to take the kick. During this time Misericordia EC's players had a chance to rest. Misericordia EC's Bob Dinamite was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sandrinho Sabóia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Kaká Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wágner Ribeiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, AF CERRADO's Kaká Goiano got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Ian Brasil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Misericordia EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AF CERRADO the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Misericordia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Brasil to maneuver through the defense. Wágner Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wágner Ribeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thiago Damião in the 26th minute. When AF CERRADO's Thiago Damião in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Misericordia EC's goalie prevented a goal. Zico Matamoros kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Wágner Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Valério Peres came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Misericordia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valério Peres couldn't finish the play. AF CERRADO were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Misericordia EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nestor Cordeiro took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Tomás Schmidt managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Kaká Goiano struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Wágner Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AF CERRADO. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bob Dinamite was the one to do the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Misericordia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Damião came free, but Wágner Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute Thiago Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute of the match AF CERRADO got a corner. Misericordia EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nestor Cordeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Nestor Cordeiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wágner Ribeiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Damião in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wágner Ribeiro saved Misericordia EC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Damião in the 58th minute of play forced Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Wágner Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Kaká Goiano notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Misericordia EC's Wágner Ribeiro. Wágner Ribeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Joel Gerber fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AF CERRADO's protests and gave Joel Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. Joel Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When AF CERRADO's Thiago Damião in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Misericordia EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thiago Damião was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Thiago Damião hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Bob Chute hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When AF CERRADO's Thiago Damião in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Damião in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wágner Ribeiro saved Misericordia EC from getting behind. AF CERRADO's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
