Laureano Barto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Botelho went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Terciero in the 13th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfredo de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Terciero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Beat in the 17th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Capibaribe Stars's Manfredo de Souza got control of the ball when Alvaro Eguerdi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Israel Galsino got free with Manfredo de Souza in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Raimundo Camargo made the kick off in the second half. With 55 minutes on the clock, Eliseu de Brito commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 55th match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu de Brito to maneuver through the defense. Manfredo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Beat in the 62nd minute of the match. Flavio Beat scored 2-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manfredo de Souza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Manfredo de Souza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cipriano Acosta's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Manfredo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Eguerdi in the 72nd minute of the match.
