Honorio Pinto struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Agapito Blanco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico Lanus. 20 minutes into the game, FCSB CUENCA's Ionel Zărnescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gervasio Santiago was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Honorio Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Carlos Pujol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gervasio Santiago. Club Atletico Lanus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Pujol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The supporters of FCSB CUENCA booed when Club Atletico Lanus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Cortez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Agapito Blanco successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. FCSB CUENCA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Honorio Pinto scored to the left of an out of position Agapito Blanco, making the score, 3-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcio Carreira made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, FCSB CUENCA's goal looked a bit too open when Honorio Pinto came free, but Agapito Blanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zunbeltz Albizua charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zunbeltz Albizua the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd match minute, Club Atletico Lanus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Orlondon to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guido Solustiano during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 85 played minutes Club Atletico Lanus got a freekick which was hit by Guido Solustiano.
