Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Petrus Catarinense to make the kick off. If Joaquim Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Seterma Tractors's Toninho Lopez got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Ibirama Futebol Clube's Dudu Pinho broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
