With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apolo Ted prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 7 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's Honorio Efraim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apolo Ted narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Municipales FC's Apolo Ted played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Lima in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Alfonso Cordeara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Arturo Filippini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Luizão Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Apolo Ted. Municipales FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luizão Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Apolo Ted showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Lima in the 18th minute of the match. Sport Club Mavericks's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Sergio Regis scored to the left of an out of position Telmo de Amorim, making the score, 1-1. In the 31st minute, Honorio Efraim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Mavericks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Honorio Efraim hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Honorio Efraim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Efraim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Ted breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Apolo Ted made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Efraim in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Municipales FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Paulin to maneuver through the defense. Apolo Ted showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorio Efraim, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Sport Club Mavericks were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Sport Club Mavericks's Sven Herling got a free kick in the 51st minute. Honorio Efraim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Apolo Ted made a huge save. Honorio Efraim struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Apolo Ted didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Mavericks. Sport Club Mavericks's Luís Gustavo Coelho was substituted for João Paulo de Sena. In the 63rd minute Luizão Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Municipales FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Lima came free, but Apolo Ted reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, Erasmo Paulin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Honorio Efraim got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-4. 75 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Municipales FC's goalkeeper Apolo Ted had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luizão Lima. In the 83rd minute, Luizão Lima reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Apolo Ted. The goal made the score 1-5. In the 88th minute Sergio Regis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Erasmo Paulin in the 92nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sport Club Mavericks's Dani Alves. In the 96th minute Honorio Efraim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sport Club Mavericks walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
