Miguel Ángel Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmar Berenguer in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Gilbert Guzman hit a great ball. In the 19th match minute, Hahay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radoslaw Zakrzewski to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute Hahay were awarded a corner. When Conrad Carrington came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the C. A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conrad Carrington couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Hahay's Sebastian Fleischer quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pedro Monzón, made in the 85th minute of the game.
