An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Seychell in the 3rd minute of play forced Sundborn IF's goalkeeper Emil Duset to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sundborn IF's Emil Duset played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Seychell in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute of the match Seraċini Għawdxin got a corner. Sundborn IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Richard Pavia ran over to the corner to take the kick. Seraċini Għawdxin's Richard Pavia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emil Duset in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Richard Pavia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Duset having to interfere. If Jarl Axelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrew Miggianis short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Emil Duset to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Clayton Gerada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarl Axelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19thth minute of the game Robert Seychell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sundborn IF's Emil Duset was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led Seraċini Għawdxin's Richard Pavia to fire away a dangerous shot which Emil Duset despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Emil Duset showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Seychell in the 30th minute of the match. Clayton Gerada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Salah in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Stellan Wallmark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clayton Gerada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clayton Gerada made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Stellan Wallmark sent off a good shot on target. In the 54th minute Andrew Miggiani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Duset saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrew Miggiani in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emil Duset saved Sundborn IF from getting behind. Emil Duset showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoine Bugelli in the 57th minute of the match. Reuben Caruana kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A hard shot 61 in the game by Stellan Wallmark from a close distance when the talented Clayton Gerada managed to make a qualified save. Seraċini Għawdxin's players were relieved. Pål Arvidsson charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pål Arvidsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Sundborn IF got a freekick which was hit by Pål Arvidsson. In the 69th minute Mohamed Salah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clayton Gerada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Richard Pavia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seraċini Għawdxin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Pavia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Robert Seychell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emil Duset stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Pavia's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sundborn IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Richard Pavia was slow to take the kick. During this time Seraċini Għawdxin's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Richard Pavia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emil Duset quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Keith Cassar came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Seraċini Għawdxin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keith Cassar couldn't finish the play. 79 minutes into the match, Sundborn IF's Stellan Wallmark sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clayton Gerada narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Sundborn IF's Jarl Axelsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clayton Gerada. That made the score 2-1 after 82 minutes of play. Emil Duset showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Seychell in the 86th minute of the match. Seraċini Għawdxin's Keith Cassar suffered a sore thigh after 88 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Stellan Wallmark hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 94 minutes into the game, Seraċini Għawdxin's Robert Seychell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emil Duset made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Sundborn IF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
