The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Gerada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Petersson in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute, Seraċini Għawdxin's Robert Seychell dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Andrew Miggiani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Frederick Van Gorp made a huge save. Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Gerada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qian Qing in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Marko Willig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Virtual Aces's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seraċini Għawdxin the free kick. After a rather tough play, Virtual Aces's Marko Willig got a free kick in the 10th minute. Seraċini Għawdxin's Richard Pavia shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 11th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Frederick Van Gorp but with some difficulty. 12 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Petersson came free, but Clayton Gerada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Antoine Bugelli came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Seraċini Għawdxin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoine Bugelli couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Mjällby in the 24th minute of play forced Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Clayton Gerada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Seraċini Għawdxin's Joseph Bruno got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Victor Petersson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clayton Gerada showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Virtual Aces's Frederick Van Gorp got control of the ball when Andrew Miggiani tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Victor Petersson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Clayton Gerada was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute Robert Seychell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederick Van Gorp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Petersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The wind increased when Victor Petersson made the kick off in the second half. Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Gerada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Petersson in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute Victor Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clayton Gerada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clayton Gerada made an important save on a dangerous shot by Qian Qing in the 58th minute. Virtual Aces's Frederick Van Gorp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrew Miggiani in the 60th minute of play. James Buttigieg hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Marko Willig was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. Wayne Schembri Zerafa kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Frederick Van Gorp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Miggiani in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Pavia in the 80th minute of play forced Virtual Aces's goalkeeper Frederick Van Gorp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clayton Gerada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Petersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frederick Van Gorp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Seychell in the 90th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Virtual Aces's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Pavia came free, but Frederick Van Gorp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, one of Virtual Aces:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Virtual Aces. After 97 played minutes Virtual Aces got a freekick which was hit by Johan Mjällby. Virtual Aces's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
