The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clube do Remo MZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tage Deckbergh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Clube do Remo MZ's zone, Tage Deckbergh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Netto came out of the goal and Tage Deckbergh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Runa United's 姜青超 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Maia in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 minutes Runa United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Victor de Sena who took care of the corner kick. With a little luck, Runa United's 姜青超 got control of the ball when Victor de Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Runa United getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Waldemar Watarz hit a great ball. Tiaguinho Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tage Deckbergh, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 55th minute, Tage Deckbergh fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Clube do Remo MZ booed when Runa United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksander Vassenius didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Luiz Fernando Britto hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Zeng Bing Fei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Runa United's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeng Bing Fei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiaguinho Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tage Deckbergh in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiaguinho Netto saved Clube do Remo MZ from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tage Deckbergh in the 63rd minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zeng Bing Fei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiaguinho Netto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. If Tage Deckbergh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Doriva Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tage Deckbergh was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Runa United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With 85 minutes on the clock, Durval Pitta commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Tiaguinho Netto had in the 87thth minute some difficulties stopping Vincent Sjöö's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 88th minute, Allan da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Victor de Sena fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube do Remo MZ's protests and gave Victor de Sena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Clube do Remo MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor de Sena to maneuver through the defense. Tiaguinho Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Watarz in the 90th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tage Deckbergh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiaguinho Netto was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. 93 minutes into the game, Esbjörn Hellström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Runa United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube do Remo MZ the free kick. After 93 played minutes Runa United got a freekick which was hit by Esbjörn Hellström. The Clube do Remo MZ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Runa United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
