Spectators: 7954 (Terracing: 5967, Seating: 1829, VIP seats: 158) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Guto Tasso kicked off to start the match. Xiboquinha FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Eduardo Sanches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Guto Tasso hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Júlio Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Tavares in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário de Salles to maneuver through the defense. Robinho de Salles was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sílvio Favoretto. In the 29th minute Enéas Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dino Tavares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio Linares was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 36th match minute, Xiboquinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Mendes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enéas Leite in the 37th minute of play forced Xiboquinha FC's goalkeeper Júlio Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dino Tavares took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júlio Linares. Júlio Linares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Guto Tasso might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robinho de Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guto Tasso ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Nova Venécia-ES's Enéas Leite slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Júlio Linares. That made the score 0-8 after 86 minutes of play. 89 minutes into the match, Xiboquinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enéas Leite came free, but Júlio Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Nova Venécia-ES booed when Xiboquinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Linares made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Joaquim Rezende sent off a good shot on target. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
